Apollo 18 + 20 Has Been Released!
March 27th, 2012 § Leave a Comment
The very first interactive fiction tribute album, curated by Kevin Jackson-Mead, and hosted by the People’s Republic of Interactive Fiction has finally been released.
Check it out here! Almost all of the Chicago Interactive Fiction Group is represented within, with a staggering five games by our own Andrew Schultz.
In other Chicago-IF news, Peter Nepstad and Ed Blair raised $300 for 826CHI’s Clandestine Quest, and came in third place out of 37 teams. Read more about that here!
We’re still having meetings at Filter at 8 pm, generally on the second Thursday of every month. We’ll do our best to keep this page more current.

Our next meetup is on July 14th at Filter on Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park, Chicago at 8pm. If you’re not familiar with Filter, it is an internet cafe that serves breakfast, coffee, and snacks with many couches and small tables. Internet access is free with a purchase. We plan to talk about IntroComp and probably IF comp works in progress. There should also be a demonstration of Zifmia in Beta form.
March Meeting

March meeting will be March 17th, as always, at FILTER at 7 pm.
In other news, the XYZZY awards were announced today. Our own Ben Collins-Sussman(and his writing partner Jack Welch, honorary Chi-IF group member) were up for a number of awards for their one-room IF “Hoosegow”. Did they take home the gold? I won’t spoil the surprise.
February Meeting
February 17th, 2011 § 2 Comments
Is Thursday the 17th at Filter on Milwaukee Avenue at 7pm. I (David) will be there at 7 while Ed and Ben will show up later. I assume Peter will be there.
I plan to show off the beginnings of a working Zifmia site as well as actually working on the site intended for the IF Demo Fair at PAX in Boston.
Anyone and everyone is welcome.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Get Lamp! We ended up with about 40 or so people there, which is incredible for a so-called “niche scene”. Our next meeting will be this Thursday, Nov. 11th at 7 pm at FILTER. Expected topics of discussion: Zarf’s incredible get-rich-quick scheme, Inform 7, and our sundry and various works in progress! Bring your laptop!
